As the daughter of a notorious moonshiner, Leightons had a tough upbringing and seeing an opportunity to get away from her family in the form of marriage to Havoc, she jumps at the chance. Moonshine task leader Havoc has always felt protective towards Leighton. Witnessing the life she's leading and seeing the danger she's in, he knows he can keep her safe especially if they were to get married. What starts off as a marriage of convenience soon changes when feelings and chemistry come into play.
I loved Havoc. He's the perfect balance of sweet and protective, he's supportive of Leighton and genuinely cares and wants to see her do well. These two share quite a bit of history together, Havocs seen first hand the kind of life Leighton was living and he wants to see her living to her full potential.
This book starts off after they're married but it gives you plenty of background so you don't feel like you're missing out on anything. The chemistry and attraction between Havoc and Leighton is off the charts and I loved the buildup between them. They have a solid foundation for a relationship to be built on, they're not rushing into anything and go from friends to more really easily.
I enjoyed this book. There's not a lot of drama but the relationship between Leighton and Havoc kept me hooked all the way through this book and I can't wait for more from this series.
